Curaçao and Cyprus have officially signed a bilateral tax treaty aimed at strengthening economic ties and improving transparency between the two jurisdictions. The agreement is expected to facilitate cross-border investment, prevent double taxation, and enhance cooperation on tax matters.
The treaty, which follows OECD guidelines, outlines measures to eliminate double taxation on income and capital, while incorporating anti-abuse provisions to prevent tax evasion. Officials from both countries highlighted the treaty as a milestone in deepening bilateral relations and aligning with international standards.
The agreement is pending ratification by both governments and is expected to enter into force in early 2026.
